Resolve to Eliminate Stigma: Participate & Enjoy Community Togetherness

 

This popular poster contest is back by popular demand! Individuals are invited to showcase their artistic talent and their commitment to fighting stigma by creating a poster highlighting the fight against stigma and/or the truth about mental illness. 

BE CREATIVE!

 

Entries for the poster contest will be accepted from December 1, 2017 to April 10, 2018 at 9:00am. 

All posters will be on display at the PAPRS Conference April 10-12, 2018 at the Penn Stater Conference Center, State College, PA.

 

Posters will be judged by "basket votes" of PAPRS Conference attendees. Each conference attendee will be given 3 voting tickets in the conference registration packet. Place your tickets in the basket to vote for three favorite posters. Voting will occur between noon on April 10 and 4:30pm on April 11. The votes will then be counted and the top three winners will be awarded their prizes during the lunch session on April 12.

The poster artist need not be present to win.

Posters must be no more than 11” X 14” in size (half a sheet of poster board), and can be on any type of paper, poster board, foam board, etc. (NO WOOD OR GLASS, PLEASE). Artists may also use any other media or art supplies they choose (markers, colored pencils, paint, crayons, pens, pencils, charcoal, stickers, paper cut outs, photography, etc.).  Artwork must be original and cannot use copyright protected material. If photos of people are used, please include a release signed by the person or persons in the photos which allows you to use the photo on your poster, and allows PAPRS to use the poster on websites and in other public arenas. 

 

Posters may be brought to the conference as long as they are delivered to the registration desk no later than 9:00 am on April 10, 2018.

Posters can also be dropped off at a drop off site scattered across Pennsylvania.

Posters must be at the drop off site by Friday, March 30, 2018 to ensure delivery to the conference.

The winning posters will be featured on the PAPRS website and may be used in media campaigns to promote the message against stigma.

Each poster submitted must include:

  • the artist’s full name
  • age
  • address
  • phone number
  • optional email address

This must be neatly printed, typed, or attached on a note card to the back of the poster. PAPRS cannot return posters; however, posters can be picked up at the PAPRS conference registration desk any time after 1:00pm on Thursday, April 12th. Any posters not claimed by 4:30pm will become property of PAPRS.
