Susan Poznar

Susan started at Community Counseling Center (CCC) in 1991 as the Transitional Employment Coordinator for “Employment Resource Specialists (ERS),” the vocational division of CCC.  While in this position, Susan developed and operated Creative Cuisine Catering and Sunshine Cleaners.  These businesses provided minimum wage job opportunities and experience to CCC service participants.  Through community outreach, marketing, and an enthusiastic, genuine passion, Susan developed countless job opportunities and long standing relationships with OVR and local businesses, many of which remain partners to this day, calling ERS when they have a job opening.  Throughout the next several years, this position evolved into job coach, job developer, and eventually to program director.  Susan achieved her CPRP certification in 2003.

In 2008, Susan developed CCC’s Peer Support Program and continues as the Director today.  This Program has experienced growth and still employs one of the original Peer Specialists.   Supervising this Program is especially satisfying for Susan as it aligns with her vocational roots and she witnesses recovery and community integration in both programs on a daily basis.

In addition to supervising both the vocational and peer support programs, Susan is a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and conducts community outreach trainings throughout the year.  She recently started to aid in marketing and public relations for the entire agency.  She has been involved in CCC’s in-house Hospitality Committee for 16 years and plays a role in fundraising which includes CCC’s signature Annual Dinner event, this year securing Dr. Veronica Carey as keynote speaker to bring the message of psychiatric rehabilitation to the forefront.
