DHS – OMHSAS Licensing

March 30, 2022 update

Today, 3/30/2022,  Governor Wolf signed Act 14 of 2022  , P.L. 71 No.14, extending the pandemic emergency declaration until June 30, 2022 or until the Federal Disaster declaration ends.

The Department of Human Services (DHS) Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) has resumed on-site licensing inspections.

Be aware that when the suspension of regulatory enforcement ends, providers will be assessed for immediate compliance.

  • TIP:  Continue to get signatures whenever possible.
  • TIP:  Keep your staff required training up to date. Remember that CPRP renewal does not have a suspension of requirements.
  • TIP:  Be prepared for your licensing visit. Offer a small room where the licensing representative can work.  Limit the number of people attending licensing reviews and maintain appropriate physical spacing.
  • We want to make all Psychiatric Rehabilitation Providers in Pennsylvania aware of this news, as urgent action may be needed.  Here’s the background:
